Restarting a pin that I created a while back: Wood Silhouette Box

I just finished this project as a last minute gift idea for a friend. I thought it would be a good first project post! It’s super simple, and takes less than an hour to complete.

Box Lid:

  • wood box [I found mine at Michaels for $4.99]
  • Image for silhouette [I actually took my friend’s cute artwork and made it into the silhouette I used for her box!]
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Scotch tape
  • Double sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Exacto knife
  • Black pen
  • Tracing paper
Step 1: Size image to fit your box, and enhance the colors so the lines are more visible.
Step 2: Trace the image with tracing paper and cut out shape with scissors. [Use an exacto knife for inside edges.] Use double sided tape to attach silhouette to box.
Step 3: Tape around the box’s edges.
